F4U-5 Corsair
The F4U-5 first flew in April 1946. It was powered by a 2,459 hp P&W R-2800-32W engine, giviing it a top speed of 470 mph - twenty miles per hour faster than the -4. The F4U-5 was the last version of the Corsair built as a fighter for the U.S. Navy.

Chance Vought
F4U-5 Corsair

This Corsair is owned and flown by Jim Read. Originally a F4U-5N, this combat veteran was flown by the Honduran government in the "Soccer War" with El Salvador in 1969. It was brought back to the US in the 1980s and restored.
