David Lee "Tex" Hill was the youngest brigadier general
in the history of the Texas Air National Guard.

"Tex" Hill

Tex was guest of honor at the AirVenture Warbirds in Review on 31 July. Hill talked about his time as leader of the Flying Tigers' 2nd Squadron. During WWII he destroyed more than 18 enemy aircraft (10.25 with the AVG), including what is believed to be the first Japanese Zero shot down by a P-51 Mustang.
