Warbirds

Until 3 June 2012, there were only three airworthy Fireflies in in the world. On that day, the Firefly pictured here suffered extensive damage while participating in the Wings Over Gillespie air show. The aircraft experienced landing gear failure and went off the runway as it was landing. It was the only Fairey Firefly operating in the U.S.
