Ford Model T Ambulance

The National Museum acquired this ambulance from Vintage Aviation Services Inc., Marion, Texas. It is of mid-1920s vintage and is painted and marked to represent a World War I ambulance.

Ambulance

This vehicle was equipped with an early form of automatic transmission and could carry three litters or four seated patients. Its light weight made it well suited for use on the muddy and shell-torn roads in forward combat areas.
