The double set of stairs under the B-36's port wing were set up for the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force's Open Aircraft Day for the Convair B-36J Peacemaker on 20 August 2021.

Peacemaker

The Museum's B-36J was flown to Wright Field from Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, on 30 April 1959. This was the last flight ever made by a B-36. It was also the first airplane to be placed inside the new Museum building.
