SAGEM Sperwer CU-161

The CU-161 Sperwer is the sole aerial surveillance asset to be deployed to Afghanistan by the Canadian Air Force. it provided I-STAR (or Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and  Recon- naissance)  for the International  Stabilization Assistance  Force –  ISAF –  in Afghanistan.

SAGEM Sperwer
CU-161

The Sperwer is an unmanned aerial vehicle manufactured by the French firm SAGEM. The aircraft is piloted remotely and can cruise at altitudes of over 16,000 feet for as long as five hours. It can send back images of targets up to 150 km from its operators on the ground.
