Hawker Hurricane XII

Canadian Car and Foundry made 1,451 Hurricanes between 1938 and 1943. 398 Mark XIIs were built. Canadian Hurricanes serviced all over the world, though many were retained by the RCAF in North America for training.

Hurricane Mk.XII

The Canadian built Mark XII Hurricane was a British Mark X with a 1,300 hp Packard Merlin 29 engine. This Mk.XII Hurricane is armed with 12 .303 caliber machine guns. Later Mk.XIIs had to four 20 mm cannons. Note the plate (exhaust deflection plate?) between the cockpit and exhaust stacks.
