Noorduyn Norseman Mk.V

This Noorduyn Norseman was built in 1950 by Canadian Car and Foundry, Fort William, Ontario. Mounted on floats, it first flew with a forestry company in the Queen Charlotte Islands, BC. The Museum acquired the aircraft in 2014 from Huron Air and Outfitters in Ontario.

Norseman Mk.V

The Norseman was designed as a rugged transport plane, well suited to operations in the Canadian North. The Norseman was designed with a rugged landing gear that was equally at home on floats, skis, or wheels. The prototype, a floatplane, first flew on November 14, 1935.
