This Mustang is marked in the colors of the First Combat Squadron. The symbols by the cockpit mark the kills this aircraft made during the War of Independence.

Hebrew Name: Bardales
101 Squadron

The two P-51s that were were operational during the War of Independence served as escorts for B-17 bombers raiding Egyptian targets in the south of Israel. The 36 Mustangs operational after the war were retired by January 1961.
