IAI Westwind 1123 Test Plane

IAI built 442 Jet Commanders and Westwinds from 1965 to 1987, when they switched production to the Astra 1125. A later model for the Astra became the Gulfstream G100 in 2002. IAI builds the Gulfstream G100 in Israel and then flies the completed airframes to the United States for interior outfitting.

IAI Westwind 1123
Test Plane

The Westwind first flew in September 1970 and was a stretched fuselage, 10 passenger version of the 1121 Jet Commander. This one was used by IAI in May 1982 to test the IAI Lavi's radar. The IAF currently uses several models of the Westwind for sea patrol duties.
