IAI Scout UAV

The Scout was first shown at the Paris Air Show in 1979. It was used over Syria and Lebanon during Operation Peace for the Galilee (1982). Their success attracted the attention of the U.S. military and led to the current use of UAVs by the United States.

IAI Scout UAV

The Scout system became operational in 1980. Its fiberglass frame emitted a very low radar signature, which, coupled with the UAV's small size, made it nearly impossible to shoot down. The inexpensive Scout UAV could transmit real-time, 360-degree surveillance data via a television camera in its central turret.
