Dassault Mirage IIICJ

In 1982 the IAF phased out the Mirage and sold most to the Argentine air force. When this aircraft (No.159) was grounded, Argentina sold it back to Israel for the symbolic price of one dollar, in recognition of its place in history.

This aircraft shot down 13 enemy aircraft while serving in the IAF. The legendary list includes: eight Syrian and Egyptian MiG-21s; an Egyptian MiG-17, MiG-19, Sukhoi 7, and Il-14; and an Egyptian cadet missile. Two of the Egyptian MiG-21s were shot down on the same day: 10 July 1970.
