IAI Lavi

The Lavi was intended primarily for use in close air support and battlefield air interdiction roles with a secondary air-defence mission. Its deveopment faced major opposition from the U.S. Government because of competition with the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C/D.

IAI Lavi
Lavi (Young Lion)

This is the second Lavi (B-2) built. It first flew on 30 March 1987. The Lavi was designed in the 1980s as a multi-role, state-of-the-art fighter. It would have been IAI's first fighter that was planned and manufactured from scratch. Unfortunately, the Lavi program was canceled on 30 August 1987.
