McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II

The first Phantoms arrived in the middle of the War of Attrition with Egypt. Two weeks their arrival they were patrolling the skies over the Suez Canal. IAF crews mastered the sophisticated weapons systems under fire.

The F-4E was the leading Phantom model. It's powered by two General Electric J79 engines. Over 200 Phantoms entered service with the IAF.
