Curtiss JN-4D Jenny

The Museum's Jenny was built by the St. Louis Aircraft Company, completed on 8 May 1918, and delivered to the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Some time later, it passed into civilian hands, and then went through numerous owners (including being in storage from 1935-1957, prior to a restoration). It was acquired by the Museum in 2013.

Curtiss JN-4D
Jenny

The Curtiss JN-4 Jenny was originally produced as a training aircraft for the U.S. Army but continued after World War I as a civil aircraft. Thousands of surplus Jennys were sold at bargain prices to private owners in the years after the war and became central to the barnstorming era that helped awaken America to civil aviation through much of the 1920s.
