Martin B-26 Marauder

Early short wing B-26s had the highest wing loading of any military airplane at the time, with only a 65 ft span. It was a very high performance aircraft but gained a bad reputation with pilots. “Jimmy” Doolittle demonstrated to the crews that what they had heard about the airplane was "pure bunk".
