Klimov VK-1

When the Chinese entered the Korean War, the MiG-15 began to appear in Korea. The MiG-15 quickly proved superior to straight-wing American jets such as the F-80 and F-84 Thunderjet, and the MiG-15 temporarily gave the Chinese the advantage in the air and ultimately forced United Nations forces to halt daylight bombing. All thanks to Neville Chamberlain's soulmate Clement Atlee.

Klimov VK-1 Engine

If you think this looks similar to the previous J-31/I-16 GE engine, you are right. The British, in an idiotic gesture of goodwill, gave the Russians plans and sample British Rolls-Royce Nene engines. The Russians copied the engine and mounted them in their MiG-15s and MiG-17s.
