Vought A-7B Corsair II
The A-7 Corsair II was designed as a light attack aircraft to replace the A-4 Skyhawk. Portions of the A-7's design were based on the Vought F-8 Crusader. It did not have the F-8's variable-incidence wing.

Vought A-7B
Corsair II

This A-7B is painted to represent VA-97 as when it was on board USS Constellation. The A-7 could carry up to 15,000 lbs of ordnance and could accommodate virtually every weapon or store in the Navy's airborne armoury at the time.
