Fokker T-2

In November 1923, the U.S. Army Air Service offered this T-2 to the Smithsonian Institution and transferred the aircraft in January 1924. The T-2 was fully restored in 1962-1964, and minor refurbishment was done in 1973 in preparation for display of the aircraft in 1976.

Fokker T-2

The Fokker T-2 was the first airplane to make a nonstop flight across the North American continent. It took off from Long Island, New York, on 2 May 1923, and landed at Rockwell Field, San Diego, California, on 3 May, 26 hours and 50 minutes later.
