Beech Model 18

This photo was taken in the mid-1960s at the airport in Morgantown, West Virginia. It was an ex-Navy UC-45J Expeditor (C/N: 67111). It was originally built as a Beech SNB-2 Navigator and remanufactured by Beech as a SNB-5. The Navy redesignated it as UC-45J in 1962. It's civilian registration was cancelled on 14 June 1976. One must assume it was scrapped prior to that date.

UC-45J Expeditor
(Beech Model 18)

The U.S. Army, Navy, and Marines used the Model 18 extensively. It was known by many names: C-45 Expeditor, AT-7 Navigator, AT-11 Kansan, UC-45J Expeditor, SNB-1 Kansan, and others. The first U.S. Army Air Corps order was placed in 1940, and the last of more than 7,000 civilian and military versions of the Model 18 series was built in 1969. This ex-Navy UC-45J Expeditor has seen better days.
