Turbojet Engine

Work on the BMW 003 started earlier than the contemporary Junkers Jumo 004 engine, but development problems caused the BMW 003 to enter production much later. Following the war, two captured BMW-003s powered the prototype of the first Soviet jet, the
MiG-9, and copies of the BMW 003 engine, designated RD-20, powered the MiG-9 in series production.
