Soviet War Memorial

Women of the wartime generation still refer to this memorial as "the Tomb of the Unknown Rapist". The rapes started as soon as the Red Army entered East Prussia and Silesia in 1944. In many towns and villages every female, aged from 10 to 80, was raped.

Soviet War Memorial

This is the final resting place for some 5000 soldiers of the Red Army. The memorial was erected in the period between May 1947 and November 1949 and covers an area of 30,000 square meters.
