Stirling Castle

William Wallace's victory over the English was near here at Stirling Bridge in 1297, and Robert the Bruce defeated the English nearby at Bannockburn in 1314.

Stirling Castle

Stirling is strategically located in central Scotland. The Romans built a fort here, and the Scottish King Alexander I built the first castle here in the twelfth century. Part of the city of Stirling is in the foreground.
