Culloden Battlefield
Culloden Battlefield has been restored as closely as possible to how it would have looked in the 18th century but some later additions remain.
The battle, which lasted only 40 minutes, resulted in bitter defeat for the heavily outnumbered Jacobites. It was the last pitched battle on British soil and around 1,800 men were slain – 1,500 of them Jacobites.
