This photo of the entrance to Edinburgh Castle was taken late in the day as people started gathering for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. At the left you can see part of temporary grandstands on the castle esplanade. The grandstands have a capacity of 8,800. More on the Tattoo later on.
