Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is not a sea, but a 76 km (50 mi) long by 16 km (11 mi) wide salt lake between Israel and Jordan. Maximum depth is 396 meters. It is geologically part of the Rift Valley system and is fed by the Jordan River and several streams. The area has an average of 330 full days of sunshine per year.
