Negev Desert

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth 400 meters (1,320 feet) below sea level and is the saltiest, most mineral-laden body of water in the world. Water from the Jordan River flows in, but because the Dead Sea is lower than the land around it, no water can drain out.
