Abu Gosh

The Israeli Arab village of Abu Gosh was established in 1520. It was built over the ruins of the biblical town of Kiryat Ye'arim (Town of Forests). It was here (according to I Chronicles 13:5-8) that the Ark of the Covenant was kept for 20 years, before being moved by David to Jerusalem. Abu Gosh is now known for its restaurants.
