Freedom Wall
Field of Gold Stars
This wall has a field of 4,000 sculpted stars. Each star represents 100 dead Americans; 405,973 Americans were killed in World War II. The one inscription in front of the wall sums up the memorial's meaning: "Here we mark the price of freedom."
