EMD F9 A&B Units
The F9 A-unit was purchased new by Erie Mining Company and spent its entire career working for the mine as a road haul engine. No. 4222 is an EMD F7B unit. The EMD F7 was a 1,500 horsepower (1,100 kW) Diesel-electric locomotive produced between February 1949 and December 1953.

Erie Mining Company EMD F9A & F7B Units

Originally numbered 101, the F9 A-unit was built in May of 1956 by EMD. The EMD F9 was a 1,750 horsepower (1,300 kW) Diesel-electric locomotive produced between February 1953 and May 1960 by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors (EMD).
