Grizzly Bear
When compared with black bears, grizzlies have a more concave or dished facial profile, smaller ears, and much larger claws. Grizzlies are omnivores, and this one was after tubers, grasses, and rodents. If it looks close, it was. It had reached the limits of my comfort zone. One more step in my direction, and I would have been gone.

Many Glacier

This grizzly bear was on the shoreline of Lake Sherburne, just off Many Glacier Road (Route 3). Many Glacier Road starts off Route 89 and dead ends just past Swiftcurrent Lake.
