American Robin

Robins are the largest North American thrush. It is also one of the earliest bird species to lay eggs. This photo was taken in April. They are named after the European Robin because of its reddish-orange breast, although the two species have nothing else in common. The European Robin belongs to the Old World flycatcher family.
