The 1,800 hp ALCO FPA-4/FPB-4s were powered by a 251 V-12 engine. They were built between October 1958 and May 1959 by ALCO's Canadian subsidiary, Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW).
No. 6767 was acquired by the CVSR in 2001.
