Soo Line 4-6-2 H-23 class Pacific
No. 2718, along with its five siblings ordered at the same time, was the heaviest steam locomotive rostered by the Soo Line. It was ordered to haul passenger trains along the road's Chicago to Minneapolis/St. Paul route.

H-23 class Pacific

This H-23 class Pacific type (4-6-2) locomotive was built in 1924 by Alco for the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railroad, also known as the Soo Line. It was among the last six Pacific H-23s ordered by the Soo Line.
