This NW-1 is a switcher that carries its 125 tons on a welded component frame. It uses a 12-cylinder engine that produces 900 hp.

EMD NW-1

EMD built this 600 hp switch engine in 1938 for the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway. It was donated to the National Railroad Museum by the Marinette, Tomahawk & Western in 1957
