British Railways 60008 "Dwight D. Eisenhower"
Dwight D. Eisenhower was donated to the United States. Earmarked for the National Railroad Museum, the locomotive was cosmetically restored at Doncaster Works 19 July 1963. This photo was taken in July, 2011. Since then 60008 has returned to the U.K. It's on a two-year loan to the National Railway Museum in York, England. It should be back in the U.S. in 2014.

British Railways 60008 Dwight D. Eisenhower

This locomotive was built for the London and North Eastern Railway in 1937, and was originally numbered 4496 and named Golden Shuttle. It was renamed Dwight D. Eisenhower after World War II. It was withdrawn from service on 20 July 1963.
