The MiG-23 that was in storage is considered more complete (with
a full cockpit among other items). After the engine is transferred,
the new MiG-23 will be prepped and painted by Restoration staff
and volunteers and then returned to the Cold War Gallery. This
-K is painted as one assigned to a Soviet Frontal Aviation Regiment,
the tactical arm of the Soviet air force. It was sold legally
as a display aircraft by a Russian general to a Finnish company,
supposedly to obtain funds to feed his troops.
