Ryan X-13 Vertijet

This X-13 was one of two built and was the Vertijet that made the full-cycle flight on April 11, 1957. It was transferred to the museum in 1959.

Ryan X-13 Vertijet

The X-13 was designed to test the idea of vertical takeoff, transition to horizontal flight, and return to vertical flight for landing by jet aircraft. This aircraft made history on April 11, 1957, when it completed its first full-cycle flight at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
