Israel purchased war-weary M3 halftracks from Europe, the U.S., and the U.K. Most were retrieved from from scrap yards and then repaired and re-engined.

This American M-3 Halftrack armored vehicle is carrying a pair of 20mm antiaircraft cannons. The 20mm cannon mount originally carried four .50 caliber machine-guns. They were removed and replaced with the two 20mm cannons.
