Boeing 747SP

This Boeing 747SP belongs to Ernest Angley. It sits here at its home field, the Akron-Canton Airport. Its previous owner was the ruler of the United Arab Emirates, who spent around $20 million customizing the aircraft. Before that, it was owned by TWA and American Airlines.

Boeing 747SP

The Boeing 747SP is a modified Boeing 747 designed for ultra-long-range flights. The SP (Special Performance) version is about 48 feet shorter than a standard 747. It also has a taller vertical stabilizer and ten more feet of span in the horizontal stabilizer, An empty 747SP weighs about 45,000 pounds less than an empty 747-200.
