The FG-1D was a Chance Vought Corsair built under license by Goodyear in Akron, Ohio.
This FG-1D crashed on the USS Croatan in February 1945 in a landing accident. The museum aquired the cockpit section along with an engine and prop. It's being rebuilt for static display.
