Handley Page Halifax NA 337

On April 23, 1945, the aircrew of this Halifax, NA337 2P-X, flew a mission delivering supplies to the Norwegian Resistance Forces northeast of Oslo. At 1:00 AM, April 24, they were hit by antiaircraft fire at the south end of Lake Mjosa. A 20 mm shell ruptured one of the fuel cells and the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Turnbull DFC, was forced to ditch his aircraft on Lake Mjosa.
