Cathedral la
Almudena
Doña Isabel de Borbón, Felipe IV's
wife, donated the money to build a cathedral dedicated to the Virgin
of la Almudena in the 17th century. However, construction of the
Almudena Cathedral did not start until 1883 and it was just consecrated
in 1993.
