Puerta de Atocha
Railway Station
This station is located on the site of one of the
old city gates. Inaugurated in 1851, it was the first railway station
in Madrid. The original station was destroyed by fire and rebuilt
in 1892 in iron and glass to a design by Albert de Palacio.
