Plaza Mayor
This is old Madrid's great 17th century square. The Plaza has been a focal point of the city sense the days when it was used for bullfights, trials by the Inquisition, and executions. Work started in 1617 and finished in 1619. The plans left standing the Casa de la Panaderia (shown here) which was built in 1590.
