Calatrava la Nueva
This ruined castle and monastery of Calatrava la Nueva is magnificent, sitting on this hilltop setting. It was founded in 1217 by the Knights of Calatrava, Spain's first military-religious order. The building was used as a monastery until 1802, when it was abandoned.
