Nelson's Column
The Column is 185 feet high, with an 18 foot high statue of Nelson on top. It is the focal point of Trafalgar Square and commemorates Admiral Nelson's most famous battle, fought off the Spanish cape of Trafalgar. He defeated Napoleon and the French and Spanish fleets but lost his life, dying aboard HMS Victory.
