The State Apartments contain some of the finest works of art, armor, and paintings in the world. There are masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Holbein and Van Dyck as well as magnificent French and English furniture and porcelain.
Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world, covering 13 acres. It is built on a high chalk ridge, close to the river Thames river. In 1992 a fire devastated it. Its restoration took five years and cost £37,000,000.
