Mount Gilboa
King Saul and his son Jonathan died on Mount Gilboa
after a battle with the Philistiens. In light of Saul and Jonathan's
deaths, David cursed the mountain: "Ye mountains of Gilboa,
Let there be no dew nor rain upon you, Neither fields of choice
fruits; there the shield of the mighty was vilely cast away."
(Second Samuel 1:21).
