Tel Beit She'an
Some twenty strata of settlements were uncovered on the Tel, the oldest from the Neolithic period (5,000 BCE). Excavators also found a walled Canaanite city with five temples, each built upon the other, numerous buildings, and basalt monuments from the period of Egyptian rule.
